Why you should never use at least one technique recommended by Internet Marketing Gurus...

There is one internet marketing technique that is often recommended by Big Name marketers. It can substantially increase your sales/closing ratio, but nevertheless you shouldn't use it at all. Because it may hurt you more than it will help you.
(Read below, but first - 2 important announcements):

Probably the Biggest Program of this decade is launching. Is it next Google?

I'm talking about using your own signature on the sales page. Sure, it will make your sales page more personal, sure people will trust you more, and this may increase your sales. So from marketing point of view this is great.

But this is only one side of the coin.

Let's now look at this technique from the angle of your personal security. I'm not going to go into details here, because I have absolutely no intention to provide any ideas to the potential fraudsters, but your personal signature is one of the key elements required for the successful check-washing operations, the form of identity theft. If you think this is only theoretical threat, think again. According to Money Magazine, over $815 million is lost annually to check washing by Americans only.

You can safely multiply this number at least few times to imagine the world-wide damage from such operations. As you see now, using your signature to personalize your newsletter can lead to much greater loss than you could ever re-coup with a benefit of a "increased closing ratio"...

How to Prevent One Mistake that Can Destroy Your Child's Future

If you have a teenager child or even college kid, you need to take a moment out of your busy schedule to talk to your kid ASAP. If you don't do this today, tomorrow may be too late.

So what should you talk to him/her about and why it's an emergency? You should talk about your kid's online behavior and how it can affect his/her security and even the future.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There will be one event that you don't want to miss if you want a peak at the future of Internet(it's Free to attend):

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You probably heard about such websites as MySpace.com or Facebook.com. Even if you haven't heard about those sites, your child sure did. Those are very popular places where kids hangout nowadays.

They interact with each other, share their opinion about different things, including sex and politics. They also can share personal details with their "buddies", including their names, nicknames, addresses and God knows what else.

And this is dangerous in many ways. For one thing, all this information sharing can lead to your child's identity theft.

Here is a tip. Very often, when you create account in the program that stores your financial data, you can have an extra layer of protection by choosing the question and providing the answer to this question which is stored in the database.

And one of the security questions you can usually use is "What is your pet's name?"

NEVER USE YOUR REAL PET'S NAME when you answer the question. Use another name and write it down so you won't forget it.

Why? Because your pet's name is a piece of information that your child can easily share with his/her buddies. Or at least he thinks that he's sharing this info with his buddy, in reality this guy may very well be lurking identity thief.

Of course identity theft is very bad, but by freely sharing his opinion on contradictory topics, you child may incur even bigger threat. Which may destroy his professional future.

How is this possible? Think about it. It's already common for HR departments to Google the person before hiring him. And if it's common today, tomorrow it may become a mandatory part of background check.

Now imagine that your child just finished college and he's looking for a job. And when your child is Googled, HR specialist found info about him on one of those "hangout" sites. The thoughts that your child shared with his buddy ten years ago now become public. His political views, his sexual preferences, his psychological profile and other intimate details are revealed. All those things that potential employee has no right to ask during interview, are now available to him.

And considering that this thought sharing was among kids, it's only natural to suppose that there will be some extravaganza in your child opinion. May be because he/she really thinks so, or may be because he/she wants to impress his/her buddies...

And don't even think that information which was shared 10 years ago doesn't really matter, because it would be gone for good in a few years. Nothing actually disappears on the internet. There are already search engines that record everything that's happening on the web (Wayback Machine from archive.org, for example). And you can trace sites back for many years.

Now you know the problem. Go talk to your child and save his/her future.

Stay Safe!
